2016 Opera Creation Workshop (as part of enoa)
Share
By granting a prominent role to contemporary creation and assisting dialogue and interaction between artists, the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence acts as a catalyst for creativity and innovation in the world of culture. The Festival d'Aix-en-Provence Director, Bernard Foccroulle, considers that “because the very nature of opera is interdisciplinary, it is the melting pot for future creativity and an exceptional place for dialogue”.
The Opera Creation Workshop provides the chance for young artists, to take the time to reflect while benefitting from an environment conducive to encounters and sharing experience. Willem Bruls, author and dramaturge, supervises this workshop and shares his experience both in creation and opera.
Workshop is held exclusively in English.
Some sessions, in the form of conferences, may be open to the public.
Workshop activities and accommodation will be covered by the Festival as well as meal allowances.
Travel expenses will be covered by the artist.
Applications for the 2016 Opera Creation Workshop are closed.
This workshop is part of the Young Opera Makers programme of enoa (European Network of Operas Academies) and benefit of the support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
