For its debut at Aix-en-Provence, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra is keen to display the full extent of its talent in a lavish programme in keeping with its identity. At the head of his new orchestra, Sir Simon Rattle will continue to explore his favourite repertoires at the Festival: German Romanticism, the Second Viennese School and contemporary music – not without a few nods to his recent triumphs with Tristan and Wozzeck.
