RAPHAËL PICHON — PYGMALION — STÉPHANE DEGOUT

About
FRANZ SCHUBERT Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished”
JOHANNES BRAHMS Symphony No. 1
Side A: the symphony. Side B: the lieder. At the Grand Théâtre de Provence Raphaël Pichon, Pygmalion, and Stéphane Degout, as closely knit as ever, continue their journey through Romantic Germany and its dual repertoire. Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished” (1822) and Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 1 (1876) will be paired with several orchestrated lieder, in which the intimate emotion of singing takes on a new depth. Voice and orchestra combine to create an inner theatre of powerful contrasts.
