About

CHARLOTTE BRAY A Sky Too Small - world premiere
WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART Symphony No. 31 "Paris"
HECTOR BERLIOZ Symphonie fantastique

After last year’s triumph in the Stadium with Ballets russes, the Orchestre de Paris and its charismatic conductor Klaus Mäkelä return for a residence on two evenings over the week-end of 14 July. The first is an occasion to hear two regulars of the symphonic repertoire which share the history of being premiered in Paris: Mozart’s Paris Symphony no 31 and, of course, Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, one of the revolutions of 1830. The evening begins with the world premiere of a piece commissioned jointly by the Orchestre de Paris and the Festival from the young British composer Charlotte Bray, a previous member of the Académie and among the most promising talents of her generation.
