PROFESSIONAL DAYS OF THE FESTIVAL D’AIX-EN-PROVENCE
Share
Each year, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence is the backdrop for national and international meetings aimed at fostering exchanges between professionals from the worlds of music and opera. In 2025, the final concert of the Instrumental Residency - spotlighting the work of living artists - will serve as a kick-off event for the Professional Days that will take place on 8 and 9 July.
OPERA MAKERS SESSIONS
TUESDAY 8 JULY 2025
Integrated into the Festival itself and especially intended as a professional stepping stone for artists in residency at the Académie, the Opera Makers sessions encourage dialogue between producers of all types — opera house directors, event programmers, and representatives of organisations that propose funding and broader support — and the new generation of creative artists. Through various organised discussions and informal networking opportunities, young artists in search of advice, guidance and/or (co-)production can present their projects and meet industry professionals who offer potential career opportunities (e.g., training programmes, internships or assistant positions), thereby developing their careers and hone their professional skills.
PULSATIONS CONTEMPORAINES AWARDS
TUESDAY 8 JULY 2025
For the second consecutive year, Sacem joins the Festival d’Aix in awarding the ‘Pulsations Contemporaines’ prizes to four artists specialising in any form of contemporary creation. This year, the winners will benefit from a three-day professional development programme as part of the Festival’s Professional Days. On 8 July, the day will conclude with an awards ceremony.
ACCORD MAJEUR
WEDNESDAY 9 JULY 2025
In partnership with the Festival, Accord Majeur, a national coordination platform for musical heritage and creation, is uniting its members — nearly 1,000 music organisations represented by the AFO, the FEVIS, France Festivals, Grands Formats, Les Forces Musicales, Scène Ensemble, REMA and the ROF — for a day of meetings and discussions with professionals from the world of live performance, well-known artistic figures, and policymakers. For this 13th edition, and continuing on from the 2024 edition, the member organisations of Accord Majeur will present Act 2 of ‘Music and Society', with a focus on 'The Art of Relationship'. On the eve of such major electoral events as the 2026 municipal and 2027 presidential elections in France, how can we rethink the role of culture and music in shaping public policy, and the part played by their stakeholders in the art of rebuilding social ties?
