Major figure in the opera, Gabriel Dussurget, director of the Festival d'Aix until 1972, man of vision and young talent scout, gave his name to a prize rewarding every year an artist revealed by the Académie du Festival d'Aix. This year, the 2017 Gabriel Dussurget Prize is handed to the pianist Alphonse Cemin and the Young Hope Award to the cellist Rafaël Arreghini. To illustrate musically this ceremony, a concert is given by the artists rewarded, accompanied by the Darius Milhaud Conservatoire of Aix-en-Provence Orchestra and by the Symphonic Orchestra of Aix-Marseille University (OSAMU).
