OLIVIER LEYMARIE, NEW DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER OF THE FESTIVAL D’AIX

Pierre Audi, General Director of the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, has appointed Olivier Leymarie as Deputy General Director of the Festival, following the deliberation of a jury chaired by Paul Hermelin, Chairman of the Festival's Board of Directors, and including state and local authority representatives, as well as several qualified members of the Board.
Olivier Leymarie is currently Managing Director of the Ensemble intercontemporain which was founded in 1976 by Pierre Boulez and which is dedicated to contemporary classical music from the 20th century to the present day. He previously held positions as General Administrator of Erda (2013-2017), a structure encompassing Accentus and Insula orchestra, where he worked under artistic and musical director Laurence Equilbey; Executive Artistic Director and Production Director of the Opéra de Dijon (2008-2013) and Assistant Production Director of the Cité de la musique-Philharmonie de Paris (2003-2008).
Olivier Leymarie will take up his new position on January 29, 2025.
