Convinced of the need to foster a productive intercultural dialog about the region in which it is located, the Festival d’Aix has been committed, since 2008, to a policy of openness to countries in the Mediterranean Basin, in particular through projects it has led with the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra and the Medinea network. This commitment is once again being recognized by the European Union, which has just awarded the support of Erasmus+ to the new programme Medinea On Air 2021–2023.
