The Lebanese painter and writer received the Lichtwark Prize 2021 for her life’s work. Her politically charged literary works describe wordly conditions and their contexts and are a strong voice of feminism and the peace movement, the Hamburg cultural authority announced. The prize is to be awarded at the Hamburg Kunsthalle on November 18, 2021.
In July 2021, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence presented in world premiere The Arab Apocalypse based on the eponymous poem by Etel Adnan and on a score by Samir Odeh-Tamimi.
