You are under 30 years old? You are a singer or a pianist? You are willing to take part in an advanced vocal programme and be at the very heart of the greatest lyrical art festival on next summer? Apply without delay to the auditions of the Académie of the Festival d'Aix!
Present since the creation of the Académie du Festival d’Aix, the Vocal residency has strongly contributed to forging its reputation. Each summer, an advanced vocal programme is designed for singers and piano accompanists. The programme works on grand opera repertoire as well as, this year, French melody.
This residency aims to consolidate singers’ vocal technique, in different styles and repertoires, to strengthen the skills of the pianists as accompanist and vocal coaches, and to provide those artists with career development tools. Reveling in the incredible sense of emulation that reigns at the heart of the Festival, each participant will be given the opportunity to perform in front of different audiences, and will benefit from professional expertise in outreach.
Next summer, the Canadian soprano EDITH WIENS, teacher at the Juilliard School of Music in New York, has been chosen for a third edition to lead this 2022 vocal residency, her dynamism and her tuition methods having set the benchmark for the world of lyrical singing. The French baritone STÉPHANE DEGOUT, an emblematic figure of the Festival, will continue his teaching approach and will put his knowledge of the world of opera to good use.
A unique concert featuring the participants and Les Talens Lyriques, conducted by CHRISTOPHE ROUSSET, will round off the residency, during the opening weekend of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence 2022.
