ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO GET TO THE FESTIVAL
Share
With performances often finishing late into the evening, getting to and from the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence may sometimes seem difficult without a car. To help make your journey easier while simultaneously limiting your environmental impact, several simple and user-friendly options are available.
> Car sharing: a practical solution
More economical, social and eco-friendly, car sharing makes getting home late at night easier while significantly reducing the number of vehicles on the road.
We invite you to share your journeys from the Aix–Marseille–Provence metropolitan area to Aix-en-Provence, or to join trips offered by other festival-goers via the Karos app. You can enjoy a range of benefits, including payments for drivers and free rides for passengers.
> New! Shuttles for your return to Marseille
The Festival is introducing a shuttle service to Marseille after performances of The Magic Flute. Be sure to book your seat now!
Departure at 00:40 (opera ends around 00:20) from the “Bourse” bus stop, at 9 boulevard Jean Jaurès (a 5-minute walk from the Théâtre de l'Archevêché). Fare: €12. Service guaranteed for a minimum of 10 passengers.
> Staying in Aix for several days?
As you plan your stay in Aix-en-Provence, consider travelling by train. The Aix-en-Provence TGV station, located a few kilometre from the town centre, is connected to the heart of the city by Line 40, a regular shuttle service that makes it easy to reach the centre. Several regional trains also serve the station located in the town centre.
> Once in town, choose sustainable transport options
The Aix city centre is easily accessible on foot or by bike, or via the “Diablines” (small electric shuttles), making it simple to travel between the various Festival venues.
