Named Best up-and-coming opera singer at the Victoires de la Musique Classique ceremony in 2013 and Best Opera Singer in 2015, the astonishing coloratura soprano Sabine Devieilhe, former artist of the Académie, has again been named Best Opera Singer 2018.

HSBC winner of the Académie du Festival d’Aix in 2012, she made her Festival début in the role of Serpetta (La Finta Giardiniera by Mozart) before coming back in 2016 to play Beauty in Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno by Handel.

This summer, you will have the delight of hearing the enchanting voice of Sabine Devieilhe in Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss, produced by Katie Mitchell and directed by Marc Albrecht. She plays the role of the frivolous Zerbinetta who attempts to convince Ariadne that all men are interchangeable.
She will also be performing with the Arod Quartet in a concert based on the character of Mathilde Zemlinsky.
