For this new stage in the cycle devoted by the Festival d’Aix to the works of Wolfgang Rihm, the Van Kuijk, 2014 HSBC Laureate, string quartet will face Wolfgang Rihm’s thoughts concerning technique and expressivity which the German composer developed in his Quartettstudie programmed with three important works by Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and the young Benjamin Attahir.
