PYGMALION
Mozart and his contemporaries
Arias and ensembles by MOZART and by his contemporaries
The conductor Raphaël Pichon and his ensemble Pygmalion will accompany the rising stars of the Académie du Festival d’Aix for an operatic evening devoted to Mozart and his contemporaries. Coming from the best international training centres, these young singers will come together with the soprano Edith Wiens, the eminent pedagogue who comes from the Juilliard School of New York. For the final concert of their residency they will defend a programme of opera arias and ensembles composed during the Age of Enlightenment and adroitly chosen by Raphaël Pichon. “In souls nobly born, valour does not depend on age!”
