The Mediterranean Youth Orchestra offers around a hundred promising instrumentalists from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in France and from the Mediterranean basin the chance to experience the life of the orchestral musician. In a bid to guide these Mediterranean musicians towards a professional future that reflects their ambitions, the Académie du Festival d’Aix offers them training sessions designed to transmit the pleasure of playing the major symphonic repertoire. As usual, the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra will close its summer session with a major symphonic concert in Aix, which will then tour around the Mediterranean. This year, the talent of these young musicians will be revealed under the baton of Slovenian conductor Marko Letonja, music director of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg.
