HIROMI — SONICWONDER

For some years now the Festival has included in its programmes the most talented artists on the jazz scene. As a precocious pianist and a composer of unrivalled invention in the crossover between jazz, pop and classical music, Hiromi has enjoyed startling international recognition, crowned by important prizes and by jazz greats such as Chick Corea and Ahmed Jamal, as well as appearing in the opening ceremony of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. This evening she’s treating the audience of the Grand Théâtre de Provence to an exciting journey, a concert of a marvellously sophisticated fusion between jazz and electronics, bursting with joy and humour, in which the sound universes of video games and manga discreetly combine.
