Composed as a homage to the reformative Pope Marcel II, the Missa Papae Marcelli by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina succeeded in convincing the cardinals in the XVIth century of the merits of the use of polyphony in the liturgy from the Council of Trent. Les Voix Animées take hold of this remarkable work and perform it paying particular attention to diction and phrasing. Some vivid vocal vibrations on the horizon!
