30 JUNE — 10 JULY 2025
Composition residency open to six emerging composers.
The Académie of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence carries contemporary music in its DNA, having been founded by Pierre Boulez in 1998. In 2025, the 100th anniversary of Boulez’s birth, the Festival highlights this legacy by offering a composition residency to 6 emerging composers, under the tutelage of leading composer Unsuk Chin. Comprised of private lessons, group presentations, and guest artists’ workshops, this residency will take place against one of the most exciting backdrops in the world of classical music, as artists from around the globe convene on Aix for the opening of the Festival’s 2025 edition.
The 2025 Composition Residency is supported by the SACEM.
