Through its main training areas, which are voice, chamber music, creation, orchestra and mediation, the Académie upholds the values of exchange, development and cultural enrichment in the form of multidisciplinary and intercultural activities, creation and mediation for all of its programmes. Through its networks enoa (European Network of Opera Academies) and Medinea (Mediterranean Incubator of Emerging Artists), the Académie promotes mobility for young artists within the Euro-Mediterranean area all year round, in order to encourage artistic and cultural meetings.
The Académie allows lyric artists to study a given repertoire (Mozartian song, lied, French melodies, contemporary vocality, etc.) working on style, technique and interpretation during master classes and encounters with renowned specialists.
The Académie offers training residencies for established ensembles (string quartets and piano trios). These residencies are supervised by top-notch tutors and passionate chamber musicians and play a highly successful part in the heart of the Festival, combining artistic projects of many different shapes and forms.
The place given to contemporary creation and interaction between artists at the Festival d’Aix is a real catalyst of creativity and innovation. The workshops offered by the Académie are part of this approach and offers young artist composers, creators and performers the chance to tackle issues related to creation and the interdisciplinary nature that is specific to opera.
