In addition to its session devoted to the symphonic repertoire, the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra (MYO) has developed since 2015 an intercultural creation session that brings together young improvisers musicians from the Mediterranean. A training session that places cultural exchanges and singularities at the heart of the musical creation process, leading to a unique collective composition, in an intercultural ensemble.
Under the musical direction of saxophonist and composer Fabrizio Cassol, the intercultural creation session - in which 15 young Mediterranean musicians took part from 5 to 20 July - focuses on the musical legacies of these young artists, who came from world of jazz and traditional music of the Mediterranean.
Thanks to the moonlight, there is no doubt that this collective creation presents a new generation of improvisers, heirs to the daring musical and creative traditions of the Mediterranean.
