Bernard Foccroulle [Director of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence] presents Faire vivre l’opéra, un art qui donne sens au monde, a book of interviews produced with four personalities (Chantal Cazaux, Sabine de Ville, Shirley Althorp, Anton Fleurov) who are involved with creation, educational and socio-artistic activities, intercultural dialogue and the place which opera occupies in a globalised world. This publication, released by Actes Sud, is an opportunity for Bernard Foccroulle to bring to a close a long period spent at the head of operatic institutions (La Monnaie, Brussels from 1992 to 2007 and the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence from 2007 to 2018), to share a few memories and to attempt to uncover a vision of the future of opera.
