Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Divertimento, K.136
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Quartet in E-flat major, K.428 n°16
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Quartet in C major « Les Dissonances », K.465 n°19
The Quartet Van Kuijk returns to the origins of the string quartet. Two Mozart string quartets dedicated to Haydn, the founding father of the genre, will bookend the concert in a harmonious face-off, starting with the most unpredictable and ending with the most abstract. In-between comes one of Mozart’s three divertimenti. Usually performed in a version for string orchestra, the quartet restores it to the intimate, impenetrable atmosphere it deserves.
