By transforming the most minor of appearances into a fascinating performance, Barbara Hannigan has revolutionized today’s approach to music. For this evening devoted to Dusapin—from whose work she is creating a world premiere production commissioned by the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and based on Dante—and to Messiaen, she is accompanied by pianist Bertrand Chamayou. Creator of the Momentum initiative, she is also mentor to the Canadian tenor Charles Sy, who performs here alongside the violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja.
