When they built the proud Babel, men were punished by the confusion of tongues: they were unable to understand one another, and soon came solitude, despair, and madness. Soprano Anna Prohaska and two exceptional instrumentalists take up this fascinating motif – intertwining with other biblical curses – in a programme made of baroque repertoire and contemporary creation, that echoes this year’s edition.
