A huge thank you to all spectators, artists, technicians, partners and journalists! We are delighted to have shared with you this 69th edition of Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, which finished on 22nd July with the closing concert of the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée.
This edition welcomed nearly 85,000 spectators at 5 operas and lyrical productions, including a world première, 1 opera in a concert version, 14 concerts, 3 professional meetings (Accord Majeur, Culture Num and Rencontres Medinea), 57 concerts, meetings and master classes of the Academy and 56 events during the AIX EN JUIN prelude, which welcomed over 17,000 spectators.
Like every year, the Festival was widely broadcast in media and on the web. Thus, all opera productions at the Festival were filmed and broadcast on radio, television or internet (Arte, Arte Concert, CultureBox, France Musique, France Télévisions, Mezzo).
Carmen and Pinocchio were projected on large screens in 29 towns in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and all 2017 productions were or will be broadcast in around thirty towns in over 15 countries worldwide.
The concert of the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée on 22nd July was also broadcast live on the festival’s Youtube channel.
Lastly, the laboratory workshop, led by painter Fabienne Verdier with the quartets of the Academy’s chamber music residency, was filmed and can be watched on 360 video or virtual reality (requires a headset) on the Youtube site of CultureBox.
