Eivind Gullberg Jensen will conduct The Rake's Progress in place of Daniel Harding

Further to a wrist injury, Daniel Harding, conductor of the Orchestre de Paris, is obliged to cancel his participation in Igor Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. An experienced opera conductor, the Norwegian Eivind Gullberg Jensen recently conducted The Rake’s Progress at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, Tosca at the Vienna State Opera and The Flying Dutchman at Lille Opera.

Trained with the legendary Jorma Panula he has worked, among others, with the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra as well as the orchestra of the Bayerische Staatsoper. Eivind Gullberg Jensen has regularly worked with the Orchestre de Paris and notably conducted Shostakovich’s Symphonies n°5, 6 and 13, Tchaikovsky’s 1st Symphony as well as Grieg’s Piano Concerto with Nikolai Lugansky.
