Mediterranean Youth Orchestra
Symphonic session - Marko Letonja

The traditional symphonic session of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra offers a memorable and unique experience in a professional orchestra. The 100 young musicians taking part in this session will receive the opportunity to progress under the baton of Slovenian conductor Marko Letonja and alongside seasoned musicians from internationally renowned orchestras who will follow their progression during rehearsals.
The first concert of this young class will be the closing event of the Festival's 2016 edition, which will be immediately followed by a concert tour in the Mediterranean region.

Intercultural creation session - Raphaël Imbert
8 - 22 July 2016
Led by the saxophonist and jazzman Raphaël Imbert, a dozen young Mediterranean musicians are invited to participate in an intercultural creation session focused on collective composition and the theme of blues. This session will associate various musical genres of the Mediterranean area and start a conversation between a selection of talented improvisational musicians coming from different areas of musical expertise: jazz, traditional Mediterranean music, etc.
Cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras and percussionist Jean-Luc Di Fraya will be invited to join the MYO in this training session.
