Public recognition for the artistic quality at the Festival

A study on audiences and economic benefits, carried out in 2017 by the professional federation Les Forces Musicales, shows that the public is very happy overall. On average, audience members give a satisfaction rating of 8 out of 10 for most of the questions asked: programme, welcome, ticketing & reservations, comfort in the venues, etc.

The study also shows that the Festival audience are loyal and are opinion leaders who regularly recommend the Festival to people they know (97% of audience members, over 9 out of 10).

A Festival with recognition from its peers

In 2013, the Executive Agency of the European Commission awarded the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence the title of European Cultural Ambassador.

In 2014, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence was named the Best Opera Festival at the International Opera Awards. The prize is a reward for the work carried out all through the year by the teams and artists at the Festival in terms of excellence, artistic creativity and openness to an increasingly large audience.
