Voice and composition master class

Following on from the 2015 Melody & Creation residency, the Académie offers for this 2016 edition a Melody & Creation residency directed by the pianist and voice coach Jeff Cohen, with the complicity of the baritone François Le Roux.
The residency offers six singers and three pianists an opportunity to confront with and contribute to new forms of musical writing, and to develop their knowledge of the20^th century repertoire.

Jeff Cohen explores a repertoire going from Debussy to contemporary music, by highlighting three world creations commissioned by the Académie du Festival d'Aix to the young composers in residency.

During this session, composers Rene Orth and Nuno da Rocha will exchange with the singers and pianists of the residency who will create their new works. These exchanges nourish and guide the interpretation, and help to adjust the composition in creation. Il is also an opportunity to give the spectators a few keys of comprehension of the works.
