Passerelles

Since 2007, Passerelles, the department of cultural initiatives of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, has headed the Festival’s educational and socio-artistic activities all year long.

With the objective of including a wide range of audiences in the life of the Festival and to propose cultural actions in with its territory, Passerelles’ projects are based on reciprocity and exchange with its partners. Passerelles thus intervenes throughout the regional territory (47 municipalities in the Sud-PACA region), with more than 193 educational, health and social structures, and reaches nearly 4,000 children, teenagers and adults, in an invitation to musical discovery and sharing.

OPERA AWARENESS

Passerelles offers several hundred free workshops, adapted to all audiences, developed with its local partners and led by artists and educators. These awareness-raising programmes include artistic and creative workshops (choral singing, writing, visual arts, theatre, dance, etc.), meetings with technical teams in our workshops and backstage, musical events and meetings with the Festival artists.

Each course begins with training sessions for our partners in December, and uses online resources, teaching kits, and an app.

LIVE PERFORMANCES FOR ALL AUDIENCES

For several years, Passerelles has supported the emergence of small interactive and educational artistic forms.

MEETINGS WITH ARTISTS

Passerelles organises meetings between artists and the public throughout the Région Sud-PACA.

AMATEUR ARTISTIC PRACTICE

Through creative participatory projects, Passerelles creates opportunities for professional artists and amateurs of all levels and ages, in multicultural and intergenerational projects that emphasize collective co-creation and which are part of the life of the Festival.
